Managing cable for solar PV systems is now less difficult and time consuming with the new Ty-Rap High-Performance Cable Edge Clips from Thomas & Betts. The patented Ty-Rap High-Performance Cable Edge Clips can be installed without tools to manage up to four, 10 AWG solar PV control cables, and removed easily without tools or cutting. Additionally, they can also be repositioned for ice removal, readjustment or any other maintenance.
Ty-Rap High-Performance Cable Edge Clips support control cables through panel rotation, environmental changes and vibration, and can be reused. They fit frames thicknesses ranging from 0.06 to 0.12 inches and are available in three configurations: 90 degrees for cable perpendicular to the frame, U style for cable parallel to the frame and W style for extra-capacity cable management in parallel applications.
The clips come in two types of non-metallic polymers, which reduce the need for grounding: Acetal (polyoxymethylene) or ultraviolet (UV)- and weather-resistant nylon 6-6. Acetal clips are weather resistant and proven to perform more than 20 years outdoors with operating temperatures ranging from -85°F to 194°F (-65°C to 90°C). UV- and weather-resistant Nylon 6-6 clips are heat stabilized to retain their strength and stability in hot solar PV applications with operating temperatures ranging from -40°F to 220°F (-40°C to 105°C).
